Extraordinary Kind Of Love
Debbie and I are celebrating 18 years of marriage today, and we’ve agreed to “go” another year with the hopes it can still get even better!
) I often think–in a culture where ‘breaking marriage’ is way too common–why has it seemed to work so well for us? I’m really not sure there is a definite answer, but here is what I believe to be true for us:
Friendship is a major component to real enduring love! Sometimes it’s less glamorous, or even less passionate, but it’s deeper and kind of wiser. At the heart of our relationship is a great friendship.
Unfortunately, much of our culture only knows the erotic piece of love, yet it’s only one part of a larger whole. But when the erotic is joined together with commitment and friendship, it becomes a much higher, bigger, complete, extraordinary kind of love that you just can’t let go of!

George & Deb – Happy Anniversary! I love this post, George, and you’re absolutely right – your friendship as a couple is apparent to all who know you. You guys definitely have a forever kind of love and it’s a pleasure watching you as you continue to grow together in love and friendship.
Steve & I are honored to have you in our lives. We love you both dearly.
Pam
Congrats George. You and Debbie are the real deal. Thanks for being such an awesome example!
Congratulations to you and Debbie. That is awesome. I can’t wait until Cody and I can say that. I know it’ll fly by. So, congratulations. I’m glad you have been brought into my life; I know it’s only by God’s grace.
And I agree with Pete. Thanks for being such an amazing example to me.
George and Debbie-Congrats! You are truly an example to many. I love to watch you look into each others eyes when you are at church. Your love is truly amazing! I hope that Jay and I will become as blessed as you are!
